Automotive leather is one of the most abused surfaces in a car. UV heats it, denim dye stains it, sweat and body oils break down the topcoat, and sunscreen creates permanent color transfer if you don't clean it out fast. Once leather cracks or splits, it can't be repaired without full reupholstery — but before that point, proper cleaning and conditioning keeps it soft, sealed, and looking like it did on delivery day for another 5-10 years. Our leather service uses pH-balanced cleaner (aggressive enough to lift body oil and denim transfer, gentle enough not to strip the factory topcoat), soft-bristle brushes to work perforations, and a professional-grade conditioner with UV inhibitors. We treat every leather surface — seat bases, backs, bolsters, headrests, door inserts, steering wheel, shift boot, armrest, and console lid. Popular add-on for Lansdowne executives, Middleburg estate owners, and anyone with a luxury SUV that sees daily commute miles.

Why Prime

Why local owners choose Prime.

01

Prevents cracking before it starts

Once leather cracks, it's a $2000-$5000 upholstery job. A $119 conditioning every 6 months is the smart insurance.

02

Safe on every leather type

Works on semi-aniline, full-aniline, pigmented, and Nappa. We identify what your car has and adjust the process accordingly.

03

No greasy finish

Cheap conditioners leave a shiny, tacky film that attracts dust and looks fake. Ours matches the factory matte finish — you can't see we were there, you can only feel it.

Questions

Frequently Asked.

How often should I condition leather?

+

Every 4-6 months for daily drivers, every 6-9 months for garage-kept cars. Northern Virginia summers are hard on leather — do not skip the summer conditioning.

Can you remove denim dye transfer from light seats?

+

Light cases (recent transfer, not yet set) — yes. Older transfer that has permeated the topcoat is a color-restoration job (available as an add-on). We assess honestly at the appointment.

Is it included in a full detail?

+

A leather wipe-and-condition is included in every interior and full detail. The dedicated leather service adds soft-brush perforation cleaning, deeper conditioner, and denim/dye treatment.

Will the conditioner make the seat slippery?

+

No. We buff the conditioner in and off, leaving a soft matte finish. You'll feel a difference in suppleness, not a slick surface.

Do you treat vinyl and 'leatherette' the same way?

+

Yes — most modern 'leather' in mid-market cars is actually leatherette / vinyl. The cleaner is the same; conditioner is swapped for a vinyl-specific UV protectant.
